Trace Sheridan
- The poetry of Trace Sheridan
you begin
where I end
my day spent
yours begins
already a tomorrow
and then some ahead
of me and mine.
instead, be content
where we meet
in the place our lines
converge. just you
and me, in between
life’s changes
more than a difference
in the time,
the change across
imaginary lines,
but real in fact
more so than those found
on any geographical map.
we are separated by
the places and faces
the people we love
invisible boundaries
that cannot be breached
they are immutable
beyond our reach.
we are separated by
the oceans and mountains
the rivers and roads
not meant to be
crossed or climbed
depths and peaks
never to be touched.
